This September, Kansas City AZA #2 launched its 2026–2027 BBYO Stand UP campaign, “No Man Stands Alone,” a chapter-wide initiative dedicated to youth mental health, suicide prevention, and building a community where every teen knows someone is there for them.
Coinciding with Suicide Prevention Month, the campaign’s message is simple: No one should have to face life’s challenges alone.
According to Children’s Mercy Kansas City, nearly 3,000 children underwent assessments for acute mental health needs at the hospital in 2022, while an estimated 40–50% of children in the Kansas City region do not receive treatment for their mental health needs. Through “No Man Stands Alone,” Two’s hopes to help close that gap by promoting awareness, increasing access to resources, and reminding teens that checking in can make a difference.
The campaign has three primary goals: raising money for mental health programs, organizing children’s book and coloring book drives for sick children, and advocating for greater awareness and access to youth mental health resources.
A major focus will be Two’s own brotherhood. Monthly chapter check-ins will give Alephs opportunities to connect, listen, and make sure their brothers know they have someone in their corner.
Two’s is partnering with NAMI Greater Kansas City, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, to promote mental wellness through education, advocacy, and community outreach. The chapter will also collect new children’s books, coloring books, and art supplies for Children’s Mercy. Funds raised through “Two’s Tuck-Ins” and the Fourth Annual Marty Awards will help purchase coloring books and support NAMI Greater Kansas City.
The campaign’s “No Man Is Alone Hub” provides teens with information and resources to better understand mental health challenges and find help when they need it.
“No Man Stands Alone” marks the third consecutive year Two’s has launched a BBYO Stand UP campaign. The previous two campaigns, “If I Had the World to Give” and “Two’s for Tomorrow,” earned international recognition through the BBYO Stand UP Gemilut Chasidim Chapter Award, honoring outstanding civic action, philanthropy, and community-driven campaigns.
This year, Two’s hopes to build on that legacy by making mental health a community-wide priority. At Two’s, brotherhood means showing up for one another—not just when things are going well, but especially when they aren’t. Through “No Man Stands Alone,” the chapter hopes to remind every teen in Kansas City that help is available, support matters, and no one has to stand alone.
