(From the October 22, 1926 issue of The Kansas City Jewish Chronicle)

The debate and oratorical subjects for the National A.Z.A. Tournament to be held in Chicago were recently announced. “Hebrew Heroes” will be the title of the orations, which will be limited to 10 minutes. Each chapter will enter but one orator. The subject for debate will be: “Resolved, That the Jew should concentrate his energy on the plan to colonize Palestine, to the exclusion of the Crimean plan of Colonization.” Each debate team will be composed of two members, who must be prepared to defend either side of the argument. Main speeches will be limited to 10 minutes and rebuttal to five.

It will be necessary for the Kansas City, Missouri chapter of the Order of Aleph Zadik Aleph of the B’nai B’rith to win out in competition with the St. Joseph and Nordaunian chapters of the order, if it is to be represented in the national tournament.

With the A.Z.A. basketeers being woven into shape, under the coaching of Hy Vile, and with the debaters and orators earnestly at work, the local chapter of the fraternity is now engaged in preparation for every field of competition to be held at the national tournament.
