At a meeting held Sunday plans were completed for the Installation of Officers banquet, which will be given by the Aleph Zadik Aleph Fraternity Sunday, January 24.
A report was read by the executive committee and January 31 is the date set for the elimination contest to decide who will represent the local chapter in debate at their National Tournament at Lincoln, Nebraska, to be held February 12, 13 and 14. The subject is “The Contribution of the Jew to Civilization.”
Harold Burnett, a member of the St. Joseph chapter, was a visitor of the local chapter.
Two magazines, which were published by the Fargo, N.D., and St. Paul chapter were discussed and it was decided to have a pamphlet published by the local chapter in the near future.
After the meeting, through the courtesy of S.A. Levy, the “Y” gym was placed at the disposal of the chapter’s basketball squad and several plays were worked out under the coaching of Joe Lapin. The team is practicing regularly and this season will defend their national championship won at Omaha, Nebraska, last year.

The Alephs of AZA chapter No. 2 held their first regular meeting under their new officers, Wednesday night, January 15, at the home of Hy Vile, AZA adviser. With Leon Sedler, Aleph Godol, presiding, the activity calendar was outlined for the next six months. Plans formulated indicate a determined aim for the Best Chapter Award of A.Z.A., which Chapter No. 2 missed by a narrow margin last year.
