At a joint meeting of the Kansas City, Mo. and Nordaunian chapters held several weeks ago, Mr. B.M. Achtenberg, vice president of District Grand Lodge No. 2, was the principal speaker. In his address, he gave an interesting account of the Hillel Foundation that have been established at some of the colleges and universities of the country.

HOLIDAY DANCE AT PLA-MOR SATURDAY

The last minute rush for tickets for the Yom Kippur night dance, Saturday, September 26, at the Pla-Mor, has been accompanied by the usual amount of electioneering for the 1936 A.Z.A. Sweetheart. Co-sponsors of the affair with The Center, A.Z.A. Chapter, No. 2, inaugurated the Sweetheart contest as a feature of the Yom Kippur dance three years ago.

The dance crowd selects the Sweetheart by ballot after the ten attractive contestants attired in modish evening gowns, have promenaded on the orchestra platform to the strains of the A.Z.A. Sweetheart song. The promenade and balloting will take place around 10:30 o’clock Saturday night.

The contestants for the Sweetheart title are selected by the A.Z.A.s who use popularity, charm, etc., as the measuring stick. The ballot includes:

Misses Dorothy Bass, Betty Caplan, Maxine Eisen, Frances Gulko, Rosalie Margolin, Lee Miller, Jackie Siegel, Miriam Spillman, Shirley Yukon and Charlotte Dukar.

Tickets for the dance are one dollar per couple.
