Before a near-capacity audience, Morris and Mary Schlozman became the 30th recipient of Beth Shalom Men’s Club Kovod Award recently at the first dinner event of the current season for the Men’s Club. Hy Vile, who made the presentation, described the honorees: “Their five children are all college graduates, four of them holding master’s degrees. Their Jewish education was acquired at Beth Shalom Synagogue…. Mary has been a dedicated employee of the synagogue for the past 18 years, and Morris has been secretary of the School Committee for the past 20 years. In addition, he has served for the last two years as chairman of the Breakfast Club.”

Vile added: “Together, Mary and Morris have been active in the synagogue for the past 38 years. They represent a wholesomeness and a spiritual and ethical beauty of life together that is truly beautiful. … Both are very active, proudly humble and beautiful examples of the best in traditional Jewish living.”

(Morris Schlozman was a member of Two’s AZA in the last 1920s).
