On Sunday, Sept. 1, Two’s AZA volunteered at Mitzvah Garden KC, kicking off its “Stand Up” campaign to end hunger in our community. Members of the chapter picked peppers, okra and tomatoes, as well as general garden maintenance.
Those in attendance were: Eli Nathan, Sam Hochler, Judah Bassin, Two’s Advisor David Wexler and Kansas City Council Godol Noah Bergh (of Nordaunian AZA).
Two’s is volunteering at Mitzvah Garden the first Sunday of every month, through May. Two’s next visit to the garden is scheduled for Sunday Oct. 6; Two’s has invited Saadia BBG to join them.
Mitzvah Garden is a volunteer-supported, nonprofit garden with 100% of its harvests going to local food pantries like After the Harvest, Safe Home and Jewish Family Services Food Pantries.
