The rally featured speakers Congresswoman Karen McCarthy, corporate chief Eli Segal (assistant to President Clinton for national services) and Daryl Gilmore, National Youth Volunteer Corps member. The guest speakers took this opportunity to thank the youths for their efforts in providing community service and to encourage them to continue to make a difference in the community. BBYO participants and American Corps members joined together following the rally and cleaned up the Longfellow/Dutch Hill area in the 2700 block of Campbell Street in Kansas City as their community service project.
