Kansas City AZA #2 was recently nominated for multiple 2025 BBYO International Awards.
Two’s advisor David Wexler is a finalist for International Advisor of the Year, the 2025 David Bittker Unsung Hero Award. This is his third year as advisor of the chapter.
Wexler is a former president of Hatikvah AZA #1126 and a cousin of former Two’s advisor Nathan Mnookin – the founder of the Aleph Zadik Aleph and BBYO’s first advisor.
Two’s sophomore Judah Bassin was nominated for the The Rising Leader Award. Established in 2022, this award seeks to provide BBYO with a way to recognize and celebrate our youngest “rising leaders” across the Movement. The award honors those teens that have displayed extraordinary leadership for the benefit of their chapter, region, and the International Order. Recipients of The Rising Leader Award show “immense promise for current and continued leadership in their chapter, region, and the International Order.” Bassin was nominated by Two’s senior Bryan Persky. Judah’s father, Zachary Bassin, is a past president of Two’s.
Two’s junior Eli Nathan was nominated for The Tree of Life Recruitment Award. This honor is given to those Alephs who have played a significant and lasting part in growing the Aleph Zadik Aleph. Award recipients “leave a legacy in their chapters, councils, regions and countries as they welcome a new generation to love, cherish, and preserve the traditions of the Aleph Zadik Aleph and BBYO.” Nathan, Two’s Aleph Moreh, helped recruit six new members into the chapter this year.
The chapter was also nominated for the BBYO Stand UP Gemilut Chasidim Chapter Award, which recognizes those BBYO chapters that work to better their community through civic action. The mission of Two’s year-long Stand UP campaign, “If I Have The World,” is to help end childhood hunger in our community. BBYO will hand out Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards.
Winners will be announced at International Convention on Feb. 15 in Denver. Two’s is sending a delegation of 10 members.
